VDA - Beginners Archery Pathway

Welcome to the Van Diemen Archers – Beginners Archery Pathway.
The new format Beginners Pathway is now a two part course, including the Introduction to Archery and the OzBow Pathway, running over either 2 or 4 weeks.

The Introduction to Archery includes everything covered in original basic two week Beginners Courses, including safety and shooting basics.

The OzBow Pathway, is an extension of the basic course with the added benefits of progressing out to the Main Range, receiving continued coaching, briefings in range etiquette and starting the Archery Australia OzBow Pathway. Participants will shoot under supervision of a Range Captain and their Coaches, at the end of these two weeks there will be a BBQ lunch and a presentation ceremony of OzBow Pathway certificates and awards.

The full 4 weeks course will cost $75, which includes range fees, equipment hire and the first OzBow award (when achieved). Also included in this fee is a VDA Shooter Logbook, detailing VDA club rules, safety basics, range etiquette, the 10 steps to shooting, glossary of terms, equipment basics and maintenance tips, the OzBow Pathway details and OzBow Recording Sheet.

The basic 2 weeks beginners course, Introduction to Archery, is also available at a cost of $40. If you choose to start with the basic course and decide to continue on to the 2 week OzBow Pathway course, there is an additional charge of $35.

Once you have completed the 4 week course you are welcome to join us on the Main Range for regular club shoots and practice sessions, up to a maximum of 12 sessions including the Beginners course, which start at 12:30 each Saturday. General Range Fees apply of $15, inc. equipment hire, alternatively you may choose to join the club, membership fees vary depending upon age groups. (Members do not pay range fees)
